If you have taken the test at your institution, you will submit a preliminary report after completing the test. Certified Medical Assistant Practice Test (updated 2023)

Your success on CMAA exam day depends not only on how much time you spend preparing, but also on whether you prepare the right way. It is better to check along the way whether your studies have paid off or not. One of the most effective ways to assess progress is to take a CMAA practice test. Mock tests are useful because they show exactly where you need to improve. Each time you take the CMAA free practice test, pay special attention to these three sets of questions:

This will tell you exactly what your weaknesses are and where you should spend more time studying. Ask yourself why each of these problems bothers you. Is it because you did not understand the content? Is it because I don’t remember the words? Do you need to repeat these types of questions to increase your speed and confidence? Answer these questions and find out how you can strengthen your weaknesses by going back and reviewing the material.

Additionally, many CMAA practice exams have a section that explains the answer choices. It may be tempting to read the description and think you now have a good grasp of the concept. However, the explanation may only cover part of the wider context of the problem. Even if the explanation makes sense, go back and review each concept associated with the question to make sure you fully understand it.

As you go, remember that the CMAA practice test is just that: practice. Memorizing these questions and answers won’t help much on the actual test, as it’s unlikely that every question will be exactly the same. If you only know the correct answers to the sample questions, you will not be prepared for the real questions
