Customers using OnStar with 4G LTE can take advantage of the smartphone’s more powerful antenna, along with a Wi-Fi hotspot that works without draining the mobile device’s battery. The hotspot can be opened whenever the car is on.

ES3’s TumblebooksTV, an app that offers hundreds of animated books to read that provide educational and family-friendly backseat entertainment, will offer a 30-day trial to OnStar data customers. Most 2015 Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac models with OnStar hardware will come standard with five years of the new OnStar basic plan, in addition to six months of the OnStar Navigation & Connectivity plan. Some vehicles and rental programs offer extended OnStar trial periods.
