This command area includes advising Army civilian personnel managers on all aspects of hiring, firing, rating, and disciplining personnel. You will represent the military before federal agencies such as the Defense Systems Merit Board and the Equal Opportunity Commission.
Serves as environmental counsel in litigation on behalf of the military in state, federal and local courts. In this training, you will advise military leaders on environmental policy and serve as the military’s environmental panel.
Ensure the application of US, foreign and international laws and regulations to military operations. This area of law will allow you to gain experience in constitutional law, international law, labor law and the specialist areas of cyberspace, intellectual property and special operations law.
Act as a liaison and work effectively with visitors or local law enforcement officials. As a Judge Advocate, you will not participate in Basic Training as a full enlisted soldier. Instead, you will attend the Direct Commission Course (DCC), a physical, weapons and leadership course that prepares you to serve as an officer.
